Flexible Connectors

Flexible duct joints
Specialised flexible connectors should be selected depending on the specific environment.

Filtercorp manufacture a full range of industrial and food grade flexible connectors. From the basic polyester sleeve to the high-tech polyurethane clearflex. Our connectors comply with OSH, MAF, FDA and 3A requirements.

Style LM4 Plain weave filament Polyester. Woven polyester, food contact, excellent abrasion resistance, 110ºC
Camlon  Reinforced PVC, impermeable, 80ºC
Style PP1 Broken twill weave Polypropylene.  Heavy duty textile connector
Style WM 12K Plain weave Kevlar.   Woven Kevlar, high temperature, explosion resistant.
Style LM4/WM12K combined.  Food grade/explosion resistant.
Seeflex 040 Highly abrasive resistant clear polyurethane, static dissipative, food contact, up to 90ºC
TEFLEX High temp. Connectors up to 260ºC

High Temperature Explosion Protection

Specialized flexible connectors should be used on all pipe work and ducting conveying air or product where there is a risk of explosion.

Under the Health and Safety Employment Act effective 1 April 1993, the Management of Hazards Act requires that: Hazards are identified then: Eliminated (1st preference) or isolated (2nd preference) or minimized (3rd preference).

The occupier is responsible for carrying out this assessment.

Filtercorp’s WM12K can be used for all flexible couplings located in normal and limited access areas, where there is a risk of explosion.

The reduced explosion pressure applying to both vessels linked by a flexible coupling must be less than 50 kpa, otherwise baffle deflectors must be used. The couplings must be secured by clamps or other means capable of restraining the coupling material against a force of 100 kpa. Filtercorp has stainless steel Snaplock hose clips to suit all sizes.

Filtercorp’s WM12K material, with a food grade inner can be manufactured into all shapes and sizes of connectors whether round, square or flanged.

SEEFLEX is a genuine break-through in flexible connectors.

Manufactured in Auckland they will oscillate for a very long time without fracturing. Being clear and static free the product can be seen passing through the connector which is an important bonus for multi head sifters.

Explosion Protection Connectors

LM4/WM12K should be used in normal and limited access areas.

“Baffle deflectors must be used in couplings that are larger than 625 mm ID.

All unprotected couplings in normal and restricted access areas must be examined regularly to establish that the integrity of the fabric is maintained.

Couplings should be renewed at least annually.
